Overview:
This presentation will introduce you to a systematic approach
to getting a product management job that you will love and enjoy.
You will learn actionable steps and tips on avoiding "product
jobs that suck", standing out from the rest of the candidates,
preparing for surprises during the interviewing process, and having
effective interviews. Shreyas will share the things he learned
from hiring PMs and from being a candidate for PM positions of
all levels at large companies and start-ups in the valley - for
example, what he found by A/B testing his resume. The presentation
will also cover a few key tips for hiring managers and for aspiring
PMs.
About the Speaker:
Shreyas Doshi is currently
Product Manager at Google, where he works on Google's key advertiser
interfaces: the AdWords API and the AdWords web interface (adwords.google.com).
Prior to Google, Shreyas was Sr. Manager of Product Management
at Yahoo!, where he was responsible for the launch of Yahoo!'s
OpenID and OAuth products, as well as some of Yahoo!'s biggest
account security initiatives. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science
from the University of California, Irvine and B.E. in Computer
Engineering from the University of Mumbai, India. Shreyas occasionally
