Many people believe that breaking into product management is one of the most difficult career transitions in technology. However with the right actions on your part, it doesn’t have to be that way. In keeping with SVPMA’s December meeting tradition of a career theme, this event will highlight the path and journey that led Ronke Majekodunmi to become a Product Manager, along with her thoughts and advice for current and prospective product managers on how to fast-track your transition. She’ll also review how the roles and requirements have changed over the last ten years. This session will benefit both the individual trying to secure their first product management role and the product manager trying to climb the product management ladder.

About the Speaker
For over 15 years, Ronke Majekodunmi (she/her) has been a noteworthy leader and powerhouse in product management. As the Director of Product Management at Promevo, Ronke leads the product management department, overseeing product development and teams dedicated to delivering value to both the company and its customers. Previously, she held Program Manager, Product Manager, Director of Product Development and Senior Product Manager roles at companies such as LexisNexis, Stretto, PayPal, Backstop Solutions Group, and others.
Ronke is widely recognized for her expertise in product management, making her a highly sought-after figure in the professional community. She is a Visiting Professor at the Keller Graduate School of Management and regularly volunteers her time at the University of Washington’s Product Management Center. After earning her Bachelor’s at the University at Albany, NY, she obtained her MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University.
