In this hands-on session, we will share best practices developed from running dozens of design sprints at large companies and small startups. You’ll walk away prepared to run your most successful design sprint yet.

You’ll learn:

  • How to incorporate design-thinking and put design sprints to work for your team & projects
  • How to engage the right stakeholders and help your team get the most out of the sprint
  • How to frame the right design challenges for your upcoming sprints
  • Techniques to build team empathy around your users, including customer discovery, lightning demos, sketching, storyboarding and prototyping

This session will be fast-paced and immersive. You’ll get hands-on practice with one of our favorite ideation techniques that is guaranteed to get more results out of your next brainstorming session. Time permitting, we will also do a fun prototyping and user feedback exercise that will help you gain deeper empathy with your target customer.

About The Speaker

Ha Nguyen, Product Partner, Spero Ventures

Ha is currently a Product Partner at Omidyar Network with the Emerging Tech team where she coaches CEOs and advises early-stage startups on product and design. Ha is a key member of a 5 person investment team (4 of them women!) at Omidyar Network that invests in early stage mission-driven, for profit start-ups. Ha also leads the team’s marketing & network efforts to build brand awareness, expand our network and bring in deal flow. 

Ha sits on the advisory boards of several startups, and frequently gives talks around the globe on how to build products that customers love. Ha strongly believes in building community, and is a member of the Executive steering committee of Women In Product (community of 7k+ female PMs) and co-founded the Product Leader Summit (bi-annual conference and quarterly gathering of founders, CPOs, VPs & Dirs of Product).

Ha previously was the VP Product/CPO at several early and mid-stage startups including Stella & Dot, Betfair, Keaton Row and Oodle. She started her early product career at eBay in its early start-up years during a period of hyper-growth. Ha received her MBA from Harvard and BS in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
